Residence Visa


 

All the visa applicants are requested to provide all the supporting documents in "ENGLISH" or along with its "Spanish Translation"

No handwritten documents will be accepted. All documents should be typed

Passport Size photograph must be 2*2, with white background, without lenses and accessories

Residence and Business visa will be given in the country of origin of the applicant or where applicant will be legally residing.


  • RESIDENCE BY FAMILY REUNIFICATION
    • Typed Visa Application Form (1).
    • Passport size, white background photograph (1) – duly pasted on the application form (DONOT staple the photograph).
    • Covering letter from applicant – explaining the purpose of obtaining residency. (duly signed and to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Original Passport, its copy & copies of visaed pages. (Passport must be valid for atleast 18 months).
    • National Identity Document of the country of Nationality and legible photocopy of the Residence Card, if you reside in a Second country.
    • Medical Certificate presenting a diagnosis of the general health of the applicant and indicating if he or she has any type of Infectious illness. (to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Police Clearance Certificate of No Criminal Background (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Birth Certificate. (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Marriage Certificate
      If one of the parties is a Dominican and his / her marriage was abroad:
      Marriage certificate transcribed before the Civil Registry of the Central Board Electoral (JCE). Law No. 659-44 on acts of civil status, art. Numeral 14.
      (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).

      If both parties are foreigners and their marriage was abroad:
      Marriage certificate. If it is written in a language other than Spanish,
      (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Economic Solvency of the applicant
      Bank Letter: Date of opening of an account, annual average balance maintained during the year, Date of last Deposit.

      Labor letter
      Copies of Certificates of securities of movable Property
      Copies of Fixed Deposits
      Certification of pension income
      Any other document that shows the economic solvency
    • Warranty letter or Invitation letter.
      By which the guarantor is responsible for the expenses of maintenance and repatriation, respect to the moral and economic conditions of the foreigner, Signed by the guarantor and two witnesses, who will be the guarantor before the DGM in its application process.

  • RESIDENCE BY INVESTMENT
    • Typed Visa Application Form (1).
    • Passport size, white background photograph (1) – duly pasted on the application form (DONOT staple the photograph).
    • Covering letter from applicant – explaining the purpose of obtaining residency. (duly signed and to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Original Passport, its copy & copies of visaed pages. (Passport must be valid for atleast 18 months).
    • National Identity Document of the country of Nationality and legible photocopy of the Residence Card, if you reside in a Second country.
    • Medical Certificate presenting a diagnosis of the general health of the applicant and indicating if he or she has any type of Infectious illness. (to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Police Clearance Certificate of No Criminal Background (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Birth Certificate. (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Certificate of Investor by the CEI-RD
      • Direct Investors: must submit a copy of the Center's certification of Exports and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD). The companies that operate under the Free Zone Regime: you must submit a copy of the Certification of the National Council of Free Zones.
      • Foreign Companies Contracted or Sub-Contracted by the Executive: must present Copy of the contract or the official gazette where the contract is published with the Dominican state.
      • Border Development Projects: you must submit the Certification of the National Border Development Council.
      • Projects of Tourist Development: It can be accredited both by the Export Center of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), as well as by the Ministry of Tourism.
      • • Letter of employment certification from the receiving company.
      • • Similarly, in cases of dependent spouse (s) and children, they must be included in the guarantee letter of the receiving company.
      • • If the applicant is an economic dependent, a domestic employee, Guardian, direct-line ascendancy or child over the age of 18 of the Beneficiary, a letter of guarantee must be added where the guarantor (Beneficiary of the program) state the quality and condition of dependent Residence of the applicant for the residence, and specifying that he is responsible for the expenses of maintenance and repatriation if necessary.
      • • In case the applicant is a shareholder of the company, it must present in addition Act of the administrative board of the company in original and a copy of deposit (original visa).
    • These documents will be presented in original. The income received in wages do not apply.
  • RESIDENCE BY RENTIST (A PERSON WHO GENERATES INCOME WITH HIS/HER OWN INVESTMENTS)
    • Typed Visa Application Form (1).
    • Passport size, white background photograph (1) – duly pasted on the application form (DONOT staple the photograph).
    • Covering letter from applicant – explaining the purpose of obtaining residency. (duly signed and to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Original Passport, its copy & copies of visaed pages. (Passport must be valid for atleast 18 months).
    • National Identity Document of the country of Nationality and legible photocopy of the Residence Card, if you reside in a Second country.
    • Medical Certificate presenting a diagnosis of the general health of the applicant and indicating if he or she has any type of Infectious illness. (to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Police Clearance Certificate of No Criminal Background (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Birth Certificate. (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Renner with personal investment in Dominican Republic
      Documents showing personal investment carried out in the Dominican territory. (Copy real estate titles, company documents-Demonstrate that it is operating with the requirements established by the Ministry of labor, bank certificates in DR)
    • Renner with personal investment in his country of origin:
      Deposit the financial document of the institution from which the funds are accumulated, as specified in Law 171-07, Article 1:
      • • Bank Certification
      • • Property rental agreements
      • • Certification of financial entities such as stockbrokers
      • • Documentation that accredits it as shareholder or owner of companies from which the rent comes
    • These documents will be presented in original. The income received in wages do not apply.
      NOTE: In order to benefit from the preferential regime established in Law 171-07, Pensioners or Retirees and Foreign Rentistas must receive Monthly income according to the following scale:
      The minimum amount of income for the Pensioner is US $ 1,500.00 dollars or Equivalent in pesos, and the Renant of US $ 2,000.00 or the equivalent in Dominican pesos.
  • RESIDENCE BY PENSION / RETIREMENT
    • Typed Visa Application Form (1).
    • Passport size, white background photograph (1) – duly pasted on the application form (DONOT staple the photograph).
    • Covering letter from applicant – explaining the purpose of obtaining residency. (duly signed and to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Original Passport, its copy & copies of visaed pages. (Passport must be valid for atleast 18 months).
    • National Identity Document of the country of Nationality and legible photocopy of the Residence Card, if you reside in a Second country.
    • Medical Certificate presenting a diagnosis of the general health of the applicant and indicating if he or she has any type of Infectious illness. (to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Police Clearance Certificate of No Criminal Background (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Birth Certificate. (duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation).
    • Certification of government, official body or private enterprise of origin Foreigner, where he/she rendered his/her services. It must contain the information as the general data of the applicant, position held in the company and the amount perceived as pension.(duly legalized or apostilled, to be submitted along with its SPANISH translation)

In order to obtain permanent residency, applicant must enter country on the basis of Residence visa. The above mentioned documents are required for residence visa.

Once the procedure for Residence visa get approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dominican Republic then applicant must enter Dominican Republic within 60 days from the date of issue of the said visa.

He must visit within 15 days upon his arrival in Dominican Republic to Consular Section of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dominican Republic and then to Immigration Department as directed by them with all his original documents, which will be returned to him at the time of visa stamping by the Embassy.

PS: Medical certificate should be legalized not appostille and all documents should submit in original.
